International Womens Day
In celebration of International Womens Day, we would like to recognise our Managing Director, Beverley Ford. In the last 12 months she has gained recognition in the Parliamentary Review, been a finalist in the national Manufacturing Awards and continued her work with engineering students.
We caught up with her to mark the day
How long have you been working in engineering?
24 years, 19 at Rotaval.
What do you enjoy about your role?
I like to make a difference. Having customers report that our products have improved their own processes is great.
What advice would you give to young women wanting acareer in engineering?
I would wholly encourage young women to make a career in Engineering. There are many different careers to be had and the rapid changes in technology make it just as dynamic as say computer programming.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I love travelling and discovering new cultures. With my sisters we are currently visiting capital cities in Europe.
What’s your hidden talent?
I am definitely a water baby and love different types of water sports. Kayaking, windsurfing and sea fishing are just a few I enjoy.
Which gadget couldn’t you live without?
My radio. I love music as it adds depth to the day. I can always find a piece of music that suits my mood.
If you could be anywhere in the world at this moment, where would you be?
Not really anywhere in the world but I would love to go back to being a 7 year old, at the beach with no worries and parents to look after me.
